I was wondering if there were any tie rods that will fit a 1990 trooper that are stronger than stock. like maybe off a chevy or something? If anyone knows anything please let me know, I am trying to make it stronger but not for 250 bucks. :flipoff2:

I used one ton chevy TRE's and some 1.5" dom tubing. Tie rod and drag link with ends and all for about $160 on my cj7. These are not going to bend.

Yeah, let me know if I can help you out. We keep the tubing, inserts, etc. here and in stock so it is no big deal if we can get you to swing by so we can figure out what you need..... Give me a shout if you have any questions.

Andy
(Thanks for the referral Stewart)

Or you could get some solid tube and just get the ends tapped to fit your TRE's. That might be the most economical choice. Maybe even upgrade your TRE's if you can afford it. That way you don't have to buy the tube adapters.

If you are not into doing it yourself Andy at CRSU does killer work.

A machine shop. It's all about the research baby....it has been done ya know. I should know I'm working on a budget. :D

most any machine shop will have LH and RH taps, at least the one I used to work at did.

did someone say "solid tube"???

Yeah, I really didn't know what it was called. I figured it was tubing except solid. Solid round bar, solid stock? Did I win a prize yet? :D

zubs, I will run by crs one day with one of my tie rods in hand, that will probabbly be easier anyway. I am a toyota technician at toyota of gastonia and this is the first zuzu I have ever owned, and its an experience. :smokin:
