What is the biggest tire you can run on a 2001 Z71 without rubbing issues. It will be a dd with some hunting use.

Well someone will chime in and tell me Im wrong, and I wont argue, but... going back to late 99 early 2000 I worked part time a 2nd job at a sears tire and slung a bunch o tires at the new body Z71s. There seemed to be a pretty wide range of factory ride heights but 265/75/15 9 ~32x12) seemed to fit nicely on all. Some truck could sneak a 285/75 on but that usually required a crank or two on the torsion bars, and even then it would rub barely on full lock turns

285/75/16s fit fine, give the bars one or two cranks and realign, that isn't enough to hurt anything.

People won't beleive me, but I know a guy w/ 315/75/16 (35" tires) on a stock z71 w/ just Tbars and a little minor trimming

I believe you, heck I ran 39.5x15 tsl's on mine with a 6" suspension lift and 3" body back in the day

Saw another guy with a 3" body lift runnin 37's

generally if your doin nothin but street drivin you can get away with a much larger tire, if your worried about getting stuck offroad thou i think tread type would be a little more important than the largest size you can fit.

Thanks. I just bought my son one. It has 245s on it right now. I will start looking for a 285s

i got an 03 1500 w/ the 285 75 r 16. no problems at all.

any thoughts on running the 34 10.50 ltb? aggressive tire, but will they fit? sorry bout the hi-jack.
