I have a clear title on my truck, and now I want to transfer it to another person. There's no lien, and I just recently had the title work done. (With in 3-4 months.)
I have actually lost the title though.
I've heard two different sides.
One says that I can just fill out a form and it goes straight to that person.
The other says that I have to wait 15 days to get a new title, then transfer it to them.
Any ideas?

It all depends on the laws. In the state of Georgia where I just purchased my Toyota Truck cars older than 1986 can be sold legally with just a bill of sale. Now in South Carolina where I am getting the car registered I have to have a title. So I would call your NC DMV and they will help you out. I have talked with both the SC and GA DMV numerous times and they were able to answer any question I had.

I'm actually going to the DMV tomorrow with the guy who's buying my truck..I wanta know what I'm walking into first, and what I'll be walking out with tomorrow!

When you go, have your Drivers license. What they will do is look up your truck, if you have your registration, that will make it easier, but if not, they can still do it. They will look it up, verifying that there is no liens, and it's in your name. They will fill out a lost tittle (looks like a tittle, just different color. And since you are selling it, if the buyer is there with you, they will reassign it to him. Pay the fee's and notary, and it's a done deal. Actually quiet painless

Good!!! I'm so glad...
I actually have a copy of the original title. Maybe that'll help?

Clayton, yours is alot nicer than mine was in a way. :) (yours has an engine!)

that it does but thats not saying much for it all though if i had some tlc money i would fix all the little stuff and keep it for a spare truck
