Im starting my roll cage in my TJ next week. Originally I was planning on pulling the dash, and drilling through for the cage to run to the floor board. Friend of mine pointed out the Poison Spyder Kit and a Blue Torch Fab Kit that eliminates the need for going through the dash (found them while browsing net but never used them.) Im curious if anyone on here has ever used or seen these and what your thoughts are......
Thanks:beer:

I used to make them and they are OK. You don't have to pull your dash for the thru-dash kits. Just make the hole in the top of the plastic piece. I think your duct work needs to be pushed to one side and there is an electrical box on the pass. side that needs to be adjusted. Thats it. I've installed several of both and like the thru dash better. plus it doesn't block any of the door opening.

If you drill the hole up top and use the tube to clear the ducts, Its tight but it will work, the dash wraps will work fine also. It has been debated which is better, I believe its up to you and both are good options.

Agreed anything is better then nothing.

I'm not in WNC but I've had the Poison Spyder full cage kit in my TJ for around six years. The dash wrap bolts into drain hole in the floor and is welded into the rest of the cage on top of the dash. It diminishes ingress and egress slightly by maybe 2" but not so much as it is an issue. The only other interference is that it blocks the defrost vent for the door windows. IMHO, the through dash might be stronger but the PS, BTF or similar are much easier to install and will still provide the needed protection.

Does anyone in WNC have these kits installed? Id really like to see them before making a final decision....

Here is genrights version installed

Thanks for the input from you all, and the pix burrellsjeep. Didnt realize genright had them too. They are very similar to the Poison Spyder ones. Keep them comin.....

Blue torch fab has some that I thought to be a little better design in my opinion. I researched them and had decided on the BTF ones, But I ended up doing it through the dash, I tied my tubes to the frame.

The BTF ones have it so the dash bar welds to it and the pillars weld to the dash bar.

Now I can't say its any stronger than the PSC or Genrites, But I think its a cleaner look. There also the cheapest that I found at the time $129.99
