I'm looking for a new front bumper for my 02 TJ. It has to have:

winch mount for my warn - I can reuse the mounting plate I already have
light tabs
d-ring mounts
hood protection would be a plus
front stinger would be a plus
bolt on without welding or drilling

I currently have a Big Daddy Offroad front bumper that is a lot stronger than stock but doesn't offer much hood or winch protection - it has a small center hoop and angled ends to help approach angles

Any opinions out there on the Toys by Troy or Fab Fours front stinger bumpers? They are both about $600-$700 so they aren't cheap. I use the Jeep as a DD and trail rig so the stinger might be a bit much for daily street traffic - don't want to pop someone at light with a stinger but would like to have one anyhow...I'll sell my old bumper here as well...it's in great shape....

I have D-rings on the bumper now, but would like to add hood protection and maybe a stinger. Could that be fabbed up and be as strong as starting over with a new setup? might be cheaper too verus a whole new bumper

this is what Carolina Rock Shop made for mine:

ends are enclosed and d-ring mounts welded in...just didn't have a picture of the finished product handy...

^^^now that looks pretty good what size tubing is that?

Greg - if it isn't to much trouble do you know how long the stinger is and the angle? I am going to build one soon and that one looks about how I would like mine. Btw, do you have any more pics with the stinger that you can see the entire jeep? Thanks man.

I'd have to go measure it...but it's not even at my house right now...

I have several pics of that part of the build here:

Here's an idea you might use, you could weld it to your bumper with bolt on brace points. I just did this for Murdoch, it's welded to his bumper but bolts into the winch plate so the whole thing can come off.

Andy at the rockshop could take care of it for you I'm sure. He's in charlotte.

Thanks everybody. I'm going to go with a Fab Fours hardcore model and then add a hood hoop from Andy at Carolina Rock Shop. The Fab Fours setup is exactly what I need and is made right here in Charlotte now that they've relocated from Colorado. You should take a look and pass the word - support local folks when you can!
