its a 98 4cyl. tj. I am having trouble getting the ring of the sending unit to remove it. any tips? special tool?

the big white plastic ring that holds the whole unit in the tank?

if you can't grip it and twist it...a hammer and a big screwdriver usually work...

BTW...if you have a 15-gallon tank, now would be the perfect time to make it hold 19/20 gallons...
