My 97 TJ has 35's (2" body, 3" suspension lift) and all factory steering components, excpet for an OME stabilizer. I had it aligned after the lift but there seems to be alot of play in the steering and the jeep bounces all over the road, any one know how to correct this problem.

Check the bolt going through the track barlower mount. Jeep uses a very small bolt for this and it can work loose and/or wallow the axle mount out. We had a popping noise on cycling the steering and bumping that bolt up one size. Of course this is after you've checked the normal wearable parts.

Please keep a check on the streeing shaft going down too the box, Had mine strip the splines on the gear box. & thank god i was not on the pavement when it happend........

I had a very similiar issue when i did my Jeeps. It turned out that the lower front track bar bolt was not torqued to spec. I just torqued both Jeeps trackbars to I think it is 75 ft-lbs and the slop and shakey steering went away.

The lower front trackbar bolt is only spec'd to 55 ft/lbs. Don't go much higher or else you will snap the bolt.
