I have a 99 TJ with a used 4 inch superlift kit. After installing the lift now has very bad torque steer. The kit also come with a used skyjacker track bar w/ ss.

ANY IDEAS WOULD BE HELPFULL!

Torque steer as in when you step on the gas it steers one way or the other? This is usually reserved for front wheel drive vehicles. Is it in 4wd?

torque steer isnt uncommon in rwd vehicles.
I would say it is extremely uncommon in either a 4.0 or a 4 banger jeep though.

If it is true torque steer and not bump steer as suggested, then Id start checking my motor mounts

Its very common in big lifts & poorly designed 4 links.

I replaced the track bar with a RE unit. Problem solved. I guess the Skyjacker's relocation of the track bar to stabilizer mount isn't good on the street. By torque steer i am meaning shoots to the left when on the gas, and to the right when you let up. 99 tj 4.0, strait gear, 4wd ,4 inch lift. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR REPLIES! I also tried it with and without dropped pitman.

Sounds like just what Studnuts said.. All 3 lifted short-arm TJ's I've driven acted just like that.. I dunno how people can drive those..

No more torque steer

I know one thing for sure I would'nt buy a skyjacker track bar. They need to rethink there design.JEEP DRIVES GREAT NOW!
