Towing torque converter

I've got a 73 Chevy 1/2 ton truck with a mild 350 and a TH400 transmission that the previous owner told me was a TCI street fighter transmission. The converter in it is pretty loose now (not sure of advertised stall speed, but it flashes to 2800) and not at all suited for a pickup truck. I'm looking to swap it for one that belongs in a truck and has better towing manners. I was looking at the TCI Maximizer converter. Any thoughts on those or recommendations of other torque converters for towing or a truck?

I don't have a 4x4 rig to tow currently, but I may tug my brother's Samurai around from time to time. If I pull a 6x12 enclosed trailer (empty I might add) the truck revs 500 rpm higher than unloaded. I need to get this swapped soon. Any input would be appreciated.

I've got to make this truck work until I can buy a real tow rig once we get my wife's car paid off.

Call Dave at Atlantic Coast Converters @ 843-347-1320 and ask him about what would be good for that setup. He has great prices and the work is awesome, plus he doesn't mind spending a few minutes on the phone with you. I had my 150's converter stalled about 2 years ago and it is dead on the money. They also ship and receive.

FYI - Atlantic Coast does not accept credit card payments over the phone. All orders ship out C.O.D. - almost missed getting my converter today which would have meant I couldn't get it for many more weeks as I wouldn't be at home when the UPS man came by. Fortunately he came around for a second try today.

At any rate, first class service thus far. Will report findings after I get it installed this weekend.
