towing with a dolly question

I've never used a dolly before so I have a quick question. I'll be towing a fwd minivan behind the rv. I assume I load it with the front tires on the dolly. My question is should I lock the steering or somehow leave it unlocked? TIA.

Lock the steering for sure. Towed my 69 on a dolly way back that didn't have a lockable column. Tires turned and put the fenders into the dolly. Used a rachet strap through the spokes of the steering wheel to the seat brackets to prevent that from happening the next time.
