So anyone who works on 3.4's knows that the T-belts are easy but for some reason toyota put the belt tensioner behind the A/C compressor requiring you to remove it to service the belt.
Not so if you place a pry bar between the water pump pulley and the tensioner pulley, and force tensioner pulley down into place. Slide in a retainer pin, I use a thin allen wrench most of the time.
You may think that it takes alot of force but it is not alot of force it is constant pressure that makes it go back in as it bleeds off, one just has to provide constant pressure not a whole lot.
It may not be the best idea if your not replacing the belt and the waterpump to be prying on them. But most Water pumps I have seen on these are shot or on there way out at about 75k.
