My 3.0l is an all new long block. The issue is on hot start. Even with the old engine when starting at operating temp, RPMs would drop from 850(norm) to about 500 after sitting for about 30min.
I found the BVSV to be broken. This is the vacuum valve on the coolant sensor block that connects the fuel evap canister to the throttle body via the temperature activated BVSV.
After replacement today I went out for a drive, parked it, let sit for about 30min, and went to start the engine. Well, it was worse than before. I tried to start it 3 times and it would stumble and die.
I finally removed the gas cap and started it again and the engine did finally start up.
Who has knowledge with this? Seems I may be getting too much fuel on hot start and it’s flooding out?? Cold start injector leaking?
