i'm running a set of 85 toyota axles in my zuki. ok when its under a load something makes a popping sound in the front end, we just put new pens and springs in the lock rite and i replaced the warn hubs with stock hubs. the axle looked ok there stock can it be that it cracked on the inside of the where you cant see it. thanks for your help justin
My last rig was a Toyota axled Sammi, but, I dont have too
much more to add then the others...they seem spot on. That
said, my only isues ever,( I do drive a bit hard also) both
caused the same problem you are having. When my locker was
fubarred, it popped like mad and would only pull whichever
side had least traction. And when I tosed that POS locker and
welded it, then, after a few rides, I broke a few (stock) birfs, it
would pop and not pull that tire on that side, BUT only under
heavy
load, both times. The inner guts would strip out inside the birf,
(i guess cause the Suzuki big block woudlnt shatter them like
the Toyota motors I was used to) and I only figured it out
when I seperated the birf from the inner, the star was only
cracked enough to expand when loaded. Buy 30 spline Longs,
and if the locker is still good, you may never have to F with
that front end again. *edit*, I didnt break em, 30 Longs are like Rockwells under a Zuk, If I cant kill 'em, Nobody can!
