Just wondering if anyone has a write-up or a parts list for removing and relocating a gas tank on a 22RE, 1986 4runner.
toyota gas tank relocation?

Where are you wanting to relocate it to and why? There are some write ups on pirate about using ford fuel tanks behind the rear axle.

I want to move it behind my rear seat. I am going to eventually switch to propane, so don't want to spend any money on a cell or another tank. All I really want to do right now is disconnect it, move it, ,and reconnect it. I don't really have any experience with fuel systems so I am looking for all the advise i can get.

Do you still use the fiberglass top?
e.g. there is a problem here, in that the gas tank will now be "inside" the same space (air) that you occupy. not terribly safe, aside from fires, any type leak will have bad fume problems for you. Remember, that thing has to be vented.
Now if you have permanently ditched the top so everything is open all teh time, probably less worry.
Unfortunately in a 4Runner there aren't many places for it to go.
