just wondering if anyone has ran 5.71s? Is the ring gears smaller than 5.29s just wondering what my best bet is im still gonna drive it on the street

5.29 will be your best bet. 5.71s have like 3 pinion teeth.

5.71s will break....stick with 5.29s are your best bet. If you not gonna street drive it much then I would leave the 4.10s and do dual cases with 4.7s in the rear case.

I have a 88 sas with 37s I left the ifs rear in it. I drive on the road alot tho no funds for trailer

I think that both 5.29 and 5.71 have 7 pinion teeth. 37/7 for the 5.29 and 40/7 for the 5.71. Although most people think that the 5.71s are weaker than the 5.29s, I have been told that they are really not but I can't speak from first hand experience.

I am building yota on 37s and I am going to be running 5.29s. I think that the question is why do you want to run 5.71s? I think that the 5.29 will be low enough unless you think that you might go larger than 37s later.

Man, I have and 85 runner with 529's and it is legal to drive on the road, it does decent as far as highway speeds (local roads) I not going to say by no means it will do 80mph, but anyway 529's should be a good gear for you.
