Im in the process of piecing together parts to do a SAS on my toyota. For now, I plan on doing RUF and running stock springs with a longer shackle out back. Not the best setup, but I just want to be able to wheel and drive it every now and then. Ive been trying to find a decent set of shocks, and I dont want to buy the pricey bilsteins. I just want a cheap set of 10-14in travel shocks. Every website I go to to look for shocks, you cant search by length, just by vehicle, and most dont say the lenght of travel. What have yall used that are running RUF on a toyota?

Part #
61656 at auto zone is a 13" travel. 31.5" extended and 18.5" compressed. Not bad for 25 bucks and a lifetime warranty.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I am thinking about gettin 1st or 2nd gen rear leaves for up front since they r shorter than my 51 in springs. that way it will move my front axle an inch forward more than my 3rd gens. But from what ive read the 3 rd gen springs flex better. Any opinions on this?

Thanks for mentioning low range. Thats where im gettin all my trail gear stuff since there cheaper I ll check out there shocks.

decided against the longer shackle out back, and now Im having trouble deciding on rear springs. Pro comp has 4in ones for 210, but there for 2nd gens so there shorter. Any input on this? Don't wana run chevies, and ask other springs r high.

Yea ive looked a little at them, but I would still have to buy new spring hangers and shackles, but it may be worth it if I can find some on the cheap

I have Chevy springs and my bud has ford springs. I'd say he gets as much or more travel and less hanging out the back to drag on. My 2 cents.

From what ive read on pirate, runnin the fords backwards gives you a lot of axle wrap with out a trac bar. And you have to move the front hanger 11in forward, which is ok if you French it but otherwise it hangs up on stuff like the chevies. I know there not the flexiest, but procomp has 4 in springs for 90 bucks a pop, but there for 2nd gens. And second gens are 49in I believe, while 3rd gens are 51in. I could be wrong, but I think I seen that 2nd gens are an inch shorter on each side. This would require remounting the hanger right? I dont understand why 2nd gens are so cheap but 3rd gens are350 a pair. Theres only a 2in difference
