Is it as easy as it looks to just unbolt the reduction gear case from back case or will I have to disassemble the rear case to take off the reduction gear case? My goal is to transplant a top shift reduction case onto the back case and the put my forward shift (with marlin adapter to make a dual case) in front to mate up with my g52 tail housing.

reduction and dual adapter is one assembly (persay). then rear case is bolted to that.
no dissasembly for the rear case to remove.

if you are talking about taking apart a stock single case....start at the rear output and work forward. There are plenty of dual case install instructions on marlin's or trail-gears site. Download and follow the steps that you need to get what ever you are trying to get done.

If you are separation dual cases that are already built, they come apart behind the adapter, just like you are unbolting and tcase from a transmission.
