I need to remove both doors from an 88 Toy truck. I do not want to disturb the OEM alignments so I considered drilling off the "rivet looking" end of the hinge pin and pushing it out.
Has anyone done this? If so, will the "rivet looking" end with a small hole in the center easily drill off? Will the pin tap out without a lot of beating on the pin? Did you reuse the removed pin and use it later turned down?
If not, what sort of pin did you replace it with? I do not want sloppy hinges and feel the OEM pins should be put back, turned down.
Thanks for any and all help.
I APPRECIATE THE SPRAY PAINT IDEA BUT I AM PAINTING THE TRUCK AND DON'T WANT TO USE THAT METHOD.
THE POWERBLOCK FOLKS ON SATURDAY SHOWS DRILL THE PARTS WITH A 1/8" BIT FOR REALIGNMENT BUT THE
HINGES ARE HARD TO ACCESS WITH A STD DRILL BIT. LOWES MAY HAVE A LONG 1/8" BIT?
