alright fellers i got a few questions about twin sticks and about dual cases that i cant quite grasp.

1- If you put a twin stick on a single toyota tcase, the ONLY thing it will do/benefit it gives you is 2WD Low correct?

2- IF you put a twinstick on the rear case in a dual case setup, the benefit is 2 double low correct? or am i way off on this one?

3- Could you put a twin stick on both cases? well im sure you could but what would that do? pointless? never seen nobody do is why i ask.

4- With dual cases, do both cases have to be top-shift cases? or does a forward shift/ top shift work or vise versa? i know how dual cases work i just aint 100% sure what cases. But im thinking its two top shifts.

i appreciate any help and if any of yall got a link that describes this in depth please enlighten me

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. No. There is no transfer in the first case, only reduction.
4. Yes they both need to be top shift, but you can convert a forward shift to a top shift with a kit. Will need a press to do it though.

Incorrect...if you have a transmission that came with a forward shift case behind it then your reduction box (Front Case) can be Forward shift. The rear case is the only one that has to be top shift.

Correct my dual set up has 2.28 gears in both cases forward shift front case top shift rear. I have a twin for sale for a forward shift if your interested

Well I stand corrected, I had always read about them both being tops shift. Carry on!

And I have a forward shift and a topshift case for sale from when I was gathering parts for my samurai project, and they have already answered your questions.

So I have a odd question while I try and learn these transmissions and transfercases. I have an R150 trans I'm wanting to buid a dual case set up. I know it has a chain case behind it but I was curious if I could use the front half of that case in my Doubler build"

The Chain driven cases are one unit. You would have to use the reduction box off of a gear driven case. And it would also need to to 23 spline input.

Your weld a piece of flat bar in shift fork the front case to keep the factory shifter from moving into the 4wd position , the front case is L-N-H no side to side

Go on marlin crawlers web page and poke around it will show you all the combos possible. Also you can find the toyota bible on pirate 4x4 that is a crazy amount of anything you ever wanted to know about anything toyota.

I have a R150 in my pile. What I did (and from what I understand) is junk the chain driven case since it won't work. You will need a gear driven crawl box w 23 spline input and an actual t case that is 23 spline for the rear (or change it over). To do it you will need the adapter for a gear driven case to the R150 plus the dual adapter. Everything must be 23 spline. 23 spline can be found in the V6 rigs and turbo rigs, which are forward shift I think. To work w a R150 (think adapter plate) as a range box, they need to be covered to top shift. Or take a 21 spline top shift and convert to 23 spline.

Range box (forward shifter) is only hi-N-lo and the rear is Hi-Lo (left stick) and 2wd-4wd (right stick). I might be off on shifters since I don't have too much seat time.
