ok im a jeep guy that is looking into maybe a toyota build, i like my auto in my xj , whats the possibility of running an auto in a pickup with like a 22re in it. i have a 88 yota for a dd now, and i love it. just wanted to see what you guys are running.

Using the bellhousing and torque converter from a R134 A toyota automatic you can mate an AW4 to a 22re. This gives you the ability to run a Dana 300 with a toyota motor.

It's not real clear exactly what you're asking here...
Is it if you can put a jeep auto into the yota, the answer is yes, if you transfer the belhousing I believe an AW4 can mate the 22re.
Are you just asking about running a yota w/ an auto, yes, they exist, and yes it's nice for 4wheeling.
However the 22re is already pretty underpowered, unf the a/t saps it even more alot of folks feel it's pretty doggy.
i have an '89 Runner a/t 22re and I'm ok w/ it, but regearing helps alot.

yeah im thinkin of building another rig and im playing around with the idea of a toyota pickup or a s10. either one i chose the bed i wont use , ill just exo the cab and something towards the rear also. i like toyotas but just not that fond of a manuel wheelin, i have got so used to a auto.

Then the Yota will be fine, esp if you don't plan to keep the bed - esp since that's where they al lrust anyway ;-)
just don't expect to get anwhere in a hurry

mine is an auto. im not the quickest truck out there, of course im alot heavier than anything with a 22re.

a hand throttle is an easier solution than a tranny swap.
