I just peiced together a 4.5" kit on my xj and need a track bar, rough country makes an adjustable thats pretty cheap (less than $100), does anyone know if its any good? and also everywhere i look its pretty clearly stated that its for a 4" lift. Does the .5" make a difference? I dont want to order the thing and find its not quite long enough, might be a dumb question but better safe than sorry.

pretty sure they offer them like 4-6in and 6-8.5 or something so you will be good there. and if your going to upgrade spend a little more $ and it will be worth it. i got this one very pleased. havnt had dw since

check out iron man 4x4 they have a 4-8 inch lift adjustable track bar for XJs, if you dont like their stuff your best bet IMO would be try to find someone that offers a lifetime gaurantee!

If the track bar is adjustable, its got to fit a range of lift heights.
My RE tracbar says fits 4-6...It is def. too short for my 3.5" lift, but I'm not in the recommended range. My front axle is just shifted over a little, not quite centered on the body.

Thank ya'll for the help,I looked around and I think I'm going to go Rustys, looks like a heavier bar.

I'd keep looking...find some Rusty's bashing threads, should be easy. Then try to find people unhappy with other brands out there, it will be much more difficult.

On the track bar, I'd go Rubicon Express:
However, the Rusty's doesn't look too bad. Definitely check for reviews though. Rusty's has a bad rep for many of their products. Their track bar kit may be okay. Be sure to get the HD version at least:

The RE1660 trackbar requires the RE1665 bracket. You can also add RE1670 trackbar brace with this setup.

RE 1600 uses the factory XJ bracket. You have to drill out the hole in the factroy bracket to fit the larger bolt. I think RE might even supply the drill bit if bought new.

stay away from rustys trac bar. the whole thing is a piece of junk. thats the last thing you want to break

renagadeT I had the same problem, get two pieces of 1/4 steel about 4x4 and weld one to the front of the track bar bold bracket. put the other behind after some trim work. weld a nut to that one after you drill a new whole 3/4 inch over works great and is allot stronger with a stronger bolt.
