Trade Posts in the "For Sale" Section

I figured since we had a little thread on posting images in the for sale section we could cover this too. I am starting to think people don't understand the word TRADE. When someone wants to trade their part for another part (or vehicle for another vehicle) they obviously don't want cash. And that is why the required price posted is usually crazy/outrageous. Then people complain about the price posted when the person doesn't want to sell anyway. People that aren't even looking to trade you anything but want to offer cash ask for more information (pictures etc) and waste your time even further. I think its common sense if someone states they want to trade their item/vehicle/etc for something else, that means they aren't looking to sell. But that is just me I guess. /End of Rant.
 
Why wouldn't anybody accept cash? If they are looking for a specific part they can sell what they have and buy what their looking for in cash.

There's a reason they wouldn't. For example, if I have a set of tires on my truck that I want to trade for a different set, and I sell them, then my truck is on blocks until I find another set which might be tomorrow but it might take a month to find what I need.
 
well the way i see it if you post a price it lets u know how much they would take for it. example if i had a 10k car just wantin to trade and didn post a price and someone offered me a 2k car for trade. get what im saying i cant really explain it.

Well I usually don't sell parts off something I have to drive.
 
I will have to agree with the trade and no price. You may think your item is only worth 1k and I think it is worth 5k. It is what is it worth to you. I would gladly trade 1k worth of r/c stuff I have for a couple hundred $ worth of tires. A trade section could be added wit no price, and you get what you trade for, wether it is worth $1 or 50k, you traded for it. I won't even contact someone for something that is posted for a trade price that is more than I have in something, but the other person may have traded if they could have used it. It's just like my job; I wouldn't pay for someone to finish hardwood floors, but it is worth more than I can sell somtimes.

This is what I was getting at, But was too lazy to type it out.
 
when people trade they also dont want to pay full price for something brand new. They want something used that may be hard to find otherwise. If i trade you a used set of tires (which i dont need) for a set of wheels (which you dont need) we both would come out to the better. plus trading is fun
 
Maybe they could add a swap/barter section. I know alot of people that trade work for parts. I like trading the only thing is someone always comes out good and its usually not me(lol), but I always have the next time.
 
Forgot about that thread. The same could be done in the swap section.
 
I know im new here but this website is great. its helped me more than you could imagine. i would also like to see a trade/barter section. i think it would benefit alot of people that are short on cash. especially the way the economy is right now. and for the people that dont agree with it then dont go to it. its that simple.
