Trailer axle flip

Ive got a pop up camper that I want to lift a bit so that it doesnt scrape when I pull into a McDonalds parking lot. The easiest thing to do would be to just flip the axle and to a spring over since its currently spring under.
However, I noticed that the axle, like many trailer axles, is bowed. Its high in the middle and low on the ends. I assume its like this to flex under heavy load? Can I flip the axle, which will make the center of the axle lower than the ends?

I'd weld new perches on the top side of the axle if I was doing it. You should be able to pick up a pair cheap from Northern.

some axle manufacturers actually have "flip kits" to ease the spring over modification, it's actually a pretty common mod in the leaf sprung pop-up world,

should be a tag somewhere on the axle telling you the manufacturer, find it then contact them, OR it ain't too tough to make up your own. all you really need to do is make a nice stable platform on top of axle for the springs to rest and then figure a safe and effective way to keep everything together.

can do similar with a torsion axle, just need taller axle mounts, I've already decided I will be doing this to ours in the next year or so once the warranty is gone. I want to fit yet a taller tire with higher load capacity. may also end up going to a bigger axle
