Anyone know of a place around raleigh (that is not uhaul) to rent a car trailer. I need something to tow my jeep cj5 with memorial day weekend up to PA and back. I don't wanna use uhaul if I don't have to.

i've always rented from united out on heddingham blvd. (right off new bern/64). they have nice newer equipment style trailers at decent rates.

Hertz equipment rental...think the web address is hertzequip.com or something like that, google will find it for you.

someone on here has trailer rental in their sig... around raleigh too i think...

x2 on united... I've rented theirs a few times before. Surge brakes, but you'll be hard pressed to find electric brakes on a rental anyway.

x3 but you need to inspect before you take off. I had one that had a leaking wheel cylinder. I didn't catch it when I hooked up but did notice once on my way. Just kept topping off the remainder of the trip.

I tried to give united a call tonight but I guess they closed at 5:30 . Didn't have much luck with their website either. Every time I clicked on trailer rental it kept giving me a ford truck as the only option to choose from. Just wondering if anyone knows a ballpark figure of what one of their trailers weighs.Tryin to find a lighter trailer for gas mileage reasons. Just curious not a big deal

I'd say 2000-2300 lb range.

Yeah, that seems to be the norm for trailers. I finally got a hold of United today $53 per day on 10,000lb rated trailer. They were extremely pleasant to deal with on the phone and knew their products well. Also, I got pm that hertz has a trail king trailer w/ electric brakes for $50 a day. A couple of members on here offered up their trailers for the weekend. So I may take them up on it. But if that falls through its nice to know that I have options other than uhaul. Thanks to all for the info.
