okay here is the situation. i have an 88 3/4 ton suburban. love it way to much. and i want to wheel it even more. but this is my only car. i know it could tow a lot and that would leave me to buy a jeep to wheel with. but i love how suburbans look. i dont want any crap about them not being the best wheeling rig, i know they are huge and bulky......oh well.

so i was wondering if anyone has had any experience on trailering rigs that weigh more than 8000lbs. i would like to tow the suburban better than just having a jeep set up. and dont bash me on how the jeep will be much cheeper and easier.

so i am expecting people will say to tow it you need a dually and a gooseneck trailer.

but can a 454 3/4 ton suburban be enough. i know that they can handle 10000lbs roughly. so that would leave 2000-3000lbs of trailer wieght. can trailers that little handle that much payload and will the 454 suburban be capable?

conclusion.....can a 454 3/4ton suburban tow a 88 suburban? and how much would a trailer weigh that can handle that much weight

I'd say towing from here to Ure would be just ok at best. Trying to pull blk mtn or 421 going into Boone and you're going to HATE life. I tow with 92 k3500 with 454 and get about 7.5-8 mpg and sucks the life out of it going up the hills towing 4200lb rig on about 2000lbs trailer.
