The transfer case in my friend's '95 Grand Cherokee exploded this morning as he was driving on Rt 85. Sorry, no pics yet as he is really pissed but will try to get some. Its not rebuildable. The case is in pieces.

Anyone have a line on a decent salvage yard that may have a NP 249? He's located in Snow Camp (Alamance County) but I'm sure he'll drive wherever he needs to providing the yard has what he needs.

Thanks in advance.

Salvage Yard

Try Charlie at Marshes Auto Parts in Siler City. (He's a 'wheeler)They have a lot of Jeeps, but a bit pricey. I just avioded disaster with my transfer case. I did not realize they are vented on the top with a small tube running up to the floor pan. After last fall's wet weather at Uwharrie, (and a few submarine rides), I dropped my transfer case for a few mods, and it had a lot of water in it. I ran a vent tube from both diffs and the transfer case, and punched it thru the firewall so it can breathe inside the cabin.
