TRANSMISSION QUESTION

so I am at a point where I need some advice..go easy on me…

I have a 87 yj 4.2 auto and am needing a new/rebuilt trans…

So should I rebuild the factory one or my neighbor has a friend of his that has turbo400 that he will sell me..

Currently have factory axles and 33inch tires..

Is the th400 an amc version? If not, it wouldn't be worth the money, imo. The trans that's in it should be plenty for that engine.

The TH400 won't adapt to the 231 w/o dropping a lot of coin. Front driveshaft clearance will be an issue too.
Have the stocker rebuilt.
