transmission question

i'm looking at a b&m shifter and wondering if someone can give me some info. i have a 89 yj with a 999 automatic,the only crysler trans that b&m has anything for are 727 & 904. when i had my trans rebuilt the guy keep calling it a 904 and when i corrected him and said 999 he said " yea same thing" so my question is do they have the same linkages and will a shifter that will fit a 904 also fit a 999.

Yes same linkage it will work.

a 999 is a 904. the only difference is the gear ratio's, the 999 had the widest gear ratio of all the 904's
