Had an unbelievably good day, didn't break anything. Got a lot of new gouges and bends in the axles/skids/driveshafts. Finally put a little bend on my stock front bumper too (I really am still running the stock bumper).
I had bought some fairly worn 35" Mud Dawgs, and put them on some 16x6 steel wheels, not expecting very much from them. They had about 1/8" tread in the centers and 1/4-3/8" on the outer edges. I aired them down to 14psi, and they did absolutely awesome. The new gearing worked great too. I've never been able to crawl like that before (not having to feather the clutch).
We ran Daniel 3 times, Rocky Mount (Kodak about 4 times), Dutch John, Slab Pile, Sawmill. Got the front wheels of the jeep on the top of the slab pile, and got them good and off the ground at Kodak in a couple spots. The first ledge that you come to on Daniel (didn't even used to be a ledge) is now really beastly, and the second one (right before the switchback turn), is wearing away and getting worse as always.
It was great to get out and wheel, I had forgotten how fun it was. It was also helpful that everything was working right on the Jeep. We didn't see or hear a single vehicle out there all day. Im finally remembering why I spent so much money on this hobby in years past...
