Hey Y'all,
I am having troubles getting my power steering pump back together after installing new seals. The problem is that there's an extra pin that's not accounted for in the diagram. I can't find anything on this pump online at all.

I think that I have the pin in the correct place having it set in the hole there as seen above.
Problem #1 is with it fully inserted the pin still is the same length as the decompressed spring. hence all the parts wont go back together unless the spring will compress.
Problem #2. I am not sure how the pressure plate aligns over the pin

you can see that either I can set it over the semi circular slots, or I can get it into one of the recesses between the slots (conveniently they are both an appropriate size for the pin.)
I have put this thing together in every possible configuration I can think of, but no matter what I can't get everything lined up to where the end cover will go on far enough to even think of getting the retaining ring back on.
Anyone know how this thing should go back together? This is my last ditch effort before just springing for the $60 on a new pump.
