ne one know the best way to pull a truck in a back to back pull?
ive never did it before and was jw bc i want to do it at the dragstrip one thursday but dont want to get my butt pulled

Im anxious to hear what your planning to tug with, cuz sometimes its just inevitable :)

chain em axle to axle with a 25' STRAP(no chain) and start bumper to bumper.

i got a 84 k25 loaded down and a solid suspension with locked rear and a 4in lift and a 350 with a sm465/208

Not sure what the rules are, but IMHO, I would want equal traction on front and rear. I know with my tractor if I hooked to the rear, the front stood up, but if I hooked midway it would suck the tires down flat, getting all the traction it could get.
Could probably figure out where to hook by trying several places with it pulling against a big tree

I'm no expert, but I'd say your stock SBC and manual trans has you at a disadvantage.

If its a Gov-Lock, I bet that goes first.

*edit* Maybe you didnt mean strength..?

But, I have never pulled truck/truck either.

I would go up there one or two more times as a spectator. I bet the (right) people watching, will be talking about it while it happens anyway. I.E "look at that guy, he should have hit his brakes" OR / "hit the gas"

I think Chip was "The Guy" in the neighborhood, who could fix/unstuck anything.

Theres only a few up there that dont get pulled around(atleast havent yet)

Key is traction

i'd probably come weighted! haha

and hit up ricky, he does a pretty good job runnin things and gettin good match ups and im sure he would be willing to answer any questions

see ya thurs maybe!

ima weight it down no doubt and its not a fully stock 350 and the granny gear should be able to do the job i dont have a weight bar for the front so i was just going to put a lot of weights in the cab and ive been up there a few times alot of diesels lol i am deff. not hooking up to them lol

I've done this a couple times, and what I've taken away is don't spin, keep your nose down, the taller truck automatically has an advantage because they'll lift your rear. Get a smaller tire that's a really wide...but not too short to where you'll spin as soon as you goose it. I've been to many truck pulls where guys with trucks with 12+" of lift come rolling in on 44+" tires and before the pull will drop to a 35-38" tire. I dunno about anyone else, but I wasn't really thinking about any advice given to me...you can just kinda 'feel' what needs to happen.

i heard there was a fight tho and that spiced everything up lol

That was like two weeks ago
I left right before it cause things were kinda slow
but from what I understand it was just a misunderstanding and everything is fine now!

Hey just saw this, just hit me up when you get there, not hard to find me, plus I'm gonna have the promo chicks out there doing some last min advertising for City Limits Saturday

(which is gonna be freakin insane beyond any event I've ever done no joke, never had this many calls, messages, texts, etc - got dudes from 5 states comin, Mega Trucks, Cab Over big Rigs, Duece and a Halfs, and even got a dude with a full blown Monster truck sayin he wants to hook back to back)

But yea find me and I can tell you exactly what to do no probs, you'll have to get used to it, people will talk crap, but thursday is good practice so you can come out sat night and pull em for $$$

The one from two weeks ago was no probs and its settled, dude is welcome anywhere

But fights seem to be following me around now, and I'm always stuck in the middle . . . there was another one last thurs as well, and it was a continuation of the fight that started at Big Lick the weekend before that, but this time dude decided to pull a bat out and guess who had to stop him . . .

People just need to grow up and learn that the crowd is gonna talk crap to whoever loses, fix your your truck better over the week and come pull there Junk around next time.

But anyway I've dropped coin for 10 bouncers and three Cops for City Limits Sat night, so I get to laugh at Idiots as they get toted off to jail that night cause I'm pressin charges from now on if people can't learn

well i went to the dragstrip tonight lol and got my butt pulled lol but hey it was my 1st time and i have a 4speed i would have done better if the truck would have went into 4wd low i think i hooked the linkage up wrong when i put the everything back in lol yeah so im thinking about going to a auto that way i dont have to ride the clutch ne more lol least i had fun and no fights lol
