I'm looking to buy a manuel tube bender. What brand do you like and why? Who else should I look at besides Pro tools and JD2?
for the record, i love my jd2 model 3. plus, dies are easy to find. my $.02
Tubetek benders are made in Asheville, and look to be able to handle about anything we'd do. Not as many bells and whistles, I'm not even sure if you can get a degree ring, but seem to be well-built.
I live in Asheville and just bought a tube tek bender
out the door with a die and a degree ring its 475 bucks but I got a die for 180 bends
Cliff is the owner at tube tek and a helluva machinist easy to talk to and I got my bender when he told me i would get it
As for well built it is a hoss and he is in the process of making a bracket tobe able to make it air over hydraulic with the ram from harbor freight
We have been bending 1 1/2 diameter .120 wall tube with no issue and it will bend a true 180 easy
I am happy with the buy and its an all american product
I bought a tube tek from cliff last year, they are nice, I had to sell it, Brad from Winston Salem bought it 1983bronco on here, I made my own air over hydraulic brackets, give Brad a shout maybe he will let you look at it$355 for a bender and die is not bad.
is the bender you speak of able to bend tube big enough for rollbar material?? what about dom pipe?? I don't know much about what I'm talking about, but I would be willing to buy one for someone for trade for the work.
explain what you meanwell, if anyone in the hickory area is interested in making a deal, give me a pm
