Let me start by saying I have no experience with an auto tranny other than I have driven vehicles with them so feel free to tell me how I fawked this up.

A friend shattered his turbo 350. We found a used one. Installed the new one over the weekend. Used the same torque converter. We were careful not to spill any fluid out of the converter. Filled the tranny with fluid and now the rig moves but barely.

Where did we go wrong. Converter need fluid? Tranny toast?

HELP!!!

maybe your TC is fawked?

maybe your transfer case is locked up or binding?

maybe the new trans is toast?

who knows, it could be anything

Original tranny case cracked and all the fluid was lost. Replacement was used but was supposed to work fine and supposedly was rebuilt before removing from vehicle (k5).
We did install the t case that came with the replacement tranny. Rear driveshaft was never hooked back up bc the yoke was different. It seemed to be ok. We could see the rear yoke spinning when in drive. The rig would move but felt like a slipping clutch.
We have a spare converter that came with the replacement tranny.

Everything looks ok. Tranny and tcase bolts are secure and everything is hooked up correctly it seems. Tranny fluid at correct level. I had to adjust the linkage on the tcase shifter to get it to drop into all gears.

One thing... Which hole should the tranny shift cable go in on the tranny? Of the three holes, it is currently in the middle. Each hole has a letter beside it. When the tranny is placed in gear there was never the noticeable dropping in gear or lurch observed. Rig would move under greater than needed throttle. Only front drive shaft connected.

Thanks for the help.
