My mom's chevy lumina is having a turn signal problem. When I put on the right blinker, nothing happens, but when i put on the left blinker both of them come on. Does anyone know where this specific problem would be?
Thanks
you may have a short in the wiring. use a multi meter and check to see if you are getting power to that side when you turn it on. You could also use a test light.
Odds are it's the turn signal stalk/switch. It's probably messed up inside. If all the bulbs work and are about the same brightness, it probably isn't a corrosion issue, though thats easy to look for. It's also not a wiring issue if they all work. Not sure but you may have to remove the steering wheel to replace it. Get one and plug it in without mounting it to test. If that's not it, return it. Just don't tell them you plugged it in. Most places won't take electrical parts back if they've been plugged in.
(Being that it's a Chevy, though, you might have to remove the engine to get to the plug.) Good luck!
That sounds like the exact same problem that plauges the second gen S10s. Something with the emergency blinker switch messes up and probally needs to be replaced. You can try to turn it on and off several times, that works sometimes. If that works never touch the hazzards again.
