1976 F-250 390 (swapped) w/ a 4-speed, 2wd

How much of the splines should be showing after the carrier bearing on the first shaft going into the slipyoke of the 2nd shaft?

My '76 F-250 is showing about 3-3.5".....I have a vibration I'm trying to solve @ 30-50 mph.

Anywhere local to get it balanced/checked?

You should not have any spline showing at all. Sounds like you need the legnthen your back shaft about 3.5" and balance it and that should take care of your vibration problem.

If you have 3.5" of spline showing that means you probally only have about a inch or so inside the slip yoke.
