What kind of U-joints do I need for a stock yj front driveshaft? I had one explode on the road today, got some 1310's and they are too small. I asked the comedy zones opinion and they just stared at me like a monkey doing a math problem. :shaking:

For some reason, I was thinking they made two different sizes from 91-95. I am trying to find the source of that info.

1330 were in newer yj's

can't remember if it's a straight 1330 u joint or a 1310/1330 combination joint.

does the 1310 you got fit in either yoke? if it does, you need the combo joint... if it's too small for both yokes then you neeed a 1330 joint.

it's true. i think there are 3 types. i had mine sitting in the shop for the same reason. if you look up the serial number, the dealer or someone should be able to look it up for you.

my 94 had 1310s in the front...both ends, but a 1330 in the rear. 89 jeeps have 1310's all around. that's all I know on the topic, based on what I found in my first axle swap.

they came with 1310's & 1330's

spicer part#'s.....

1310....5-153x(greasable)
5-785x(non- greasable)

1330....5-1203x(greasable)
5-795x(non-greasable)

You more than likely have the 1330's
