I will be going to Uhwarrie for the first time next weekend to wheel. Is there any website or anything that has general rules for the campground etc. Just curious about alcohol/camping/fires, the whole works.

Thanks in advance.

keep fires in a fire pit/rock circle. you can camp anywhere in the forest. what you bring in, you must take out. and don't get caught with alcohol or it's a hefty fine. only use dead wood for firewood. don't cut any trees down. you must have one OHV pass per vehicle for every day you will be riding the trails. you can purchase them at the Mountain Market, or the Eldorado Outpost. I think that about covers the main points. stay safe and don't act stupid and you'll keep the attention away from yourself.

Respect others on the trail

Is there a campground or just camp where you want. I was thinking there may be a campground with a fire pit, tables etc.

You can camp on the trails or at designated campgrounds. I suggest Arrowhead campground. Spacious, fire pits, tables, nice shower area, and a short walk to the lake for a swim.

Awesome, thanks for the info.

Sorry, but one last question. Is the arrowhead campground real close to the trails. We will both have trailers and trucks etc.

Arrowhead is the place most of the 4x4 guys end up using, the host is great (Janet) and it is close enough to drive back/forth.

If the 4x4 rigs are NOT street legal though you really should not be on the gravel roads with them, could get a ticket.

As for alcohol, the whole forest is alcohol free, so I would make sure you are not walking around with an open can of beer or anything. There is a quiet time in the campground too...

Enjoy, it is a great place to ride, Arrowhead bathouse is fantastic, it is where I always stay.
