Not sure how many state students are on here, but I thought I'd throw this out. This year they had 3200 students sign up for 2900 reserved spots. Bobby Mills -the douche that he is- has changed the ticketing to only 1450 tickets released to camp out participants, and 1450 released to lottery members a week before the game that didn't show up to camp out.

Bobby, in case we don't talk before then, I'll see you tonight at the Chef's Challenge. I've talked with Dick Christy again and based on your response, I think the best outcome is to tell SG that 1500 tickets will be allocated through campout and the remainder (approx 1400) will be distributed through the normal system. This will continue the agreement that we have used in past years. See you tonight.

Dr. Stafford,

I totally agree with you. Zach Adams and I warned the Committee about this decision and explained the necessity to only allow 2,500 students at camp out but they did not understand our reasoning. Hopefully everything works out.

Bobby

I'm very concerned about this decision. It is inconsistent with the
agreement that has been used for the past several years to equally
divide available student tickets between campers and non campers.
Students who are not able to campout, or who have no desire to do so,
will be completely eliminated from consideration under this decision.
There will be a lot of very angry students who have assumed that they
will have a chance for a ticket through the normal distribution process.
From my perspective, this is a very bad decision.

FYI,

Student Government decided this afternoon to distribute all available
tickets through campout only. The online system was scheduled to take
requests for the game from the general student body so the ticket
office
has disabled that feature.

My understanding is that over 3000 students have signed up for camp
out
w/ less than 2900 tickets available. Student government notified our
ticket staff around lunch today that they will 'weed' this number down
to the quantity available.

Please let me know if you have questions."

There is going to be a protest at Holliday Hall at 3pm tomorrow to show our disgust with this change.

i remember the good ole days, when you didn't 'register' to camp out. WTF is that!? registering to stay outside of my dorm?

Tickets should be distibuted the old fashioned way, at the gate, first come, first serve. If that means some students take a week off their classes to camp out and get a ticket, so be it, it's their grades. First 2900 to show up for the game, go to the game. Hell, stop trying to make money on it, and let ALL students that want to go, get a ticket.

I remember the last of the old style campouts a few years ago, the one that caused the moratorium on campouts - it was pure craziness - students camped out with campfires down around the dorms & everything, burning dorm furniture from lounges, chopping down small landscaped trees to burn, etc...it was pretty crazy...they seem to mess with that all the time - good luck with the protest.

my brother is getting a free ticket today for cooking the pig for his fraternity and he's getting another for cooking the pig for the game day

I can only assume that "cooking the pig" is a slang term for smething that can't be described in public

he's in sigma chi...and cooking the pig means like BBQing a whole pig, which my brother does for every tailgate for football and any events they have.

sigma chi has cool dudes in it, they don't do homo stuff to people like all those frats with the guido guys in them like the guy on "My new haircut"...

Friday's paper said that all the tickets were going to be given out and the amount of tickets given out for camping was not reduced.

Only because Jay Dawkins, the guy in charge of the campout, called Stafford at midnight thursday night and got all the tickets back for us.

Bobby Mills is a douche and he actually showed his face at campout. Had the majority of the groups around me not been trashed and there hadn't been 20394 officers near us, he would've gotten trashed.
