It's weird that you dislike the NY/NJ area so much considering that UNC's first National Title in 1957 (not the pretend one from 1924) actually came under Frank McGuire, the scandal-ridden coach from NY, and an entire starting lineup of NY/NJ players that he recruited to come down to play in Chapel Hill.
And Duke's student population, while much smaller than UNC@CH's, is comprised of 15-20% North Carolina students. The rest, obviously, come from all over the world. Probably some from Russia too!
