Anyone here running one of the universal under dash heaters? I chucked all the oem heater in my cj5 and now im wanting to put something back in. I would like to find a junkyard unit to mount underneath, basically a heater core fan combo and route my own hoses. What about tractor heaters? Ive looked online and found some universal new ones for around 165. Id love to find something cheaper if i could.

I think thats probably what ill go with. Did you hook back to your def vents?

The stock setup sucks in my dd samurai. I've been wanting something extra simple to put in there. Can't remember to look for something until I'm freezin my ass of though:lol:

ammo can, heater core, 12v fan, heater hose, couple holes and a switch.
BAM you have heat. well thats the plan anyway. I think thats all a Mojave heater is anyway. I'm going to make one this week I'll let you know how it works.

Sounds like a good idea. Are you gonna be running a squirrel cage type fan or just a small cooler type fan? Lemme know how it works out too

I have one I got from 4wd hardware about 6 years ago in the shed. It will almost cook you with the doors off. It has the squirrel cage fan. I think it was pretty expensive though. 150-175

If its in the shed, would that mean youd be interested in selling?

Ok me and a buddy whipped one out of an ammo can, pinto blower motor, and a grandam heater core, some 2" exhaust tubing, and some redneck engineering. Ill be hooking it up tomorrow to test. Ill post pics.
