Hey,

holy rain buckets batman! it looks like raleigh is going to float away. driving home from class this morning was fun. if you happen to be in the lake boone trail/440 area, stop and check out the food lion parking lot... and bring your snorkle. i stopped to get bread, and while there was water backing up in the parking lot, i parked in a dry spot (dry being relative of course). and in less than 5mins the water around my cherokee had gotten 4-5" deep. soaked my shoes getting in. i'd say in the deepest spot it was easily 12-14" deep. there were two other cars in immediate danger. if they weren't moved within 20mins of when i left, i'd say they'll be flooded out. the problem is that the apartment complex across the street has a pond that's flooding over, and creating a raging river across the street and ending in the food lion parking lot.

so where have u seen the deepest water?

completely soaked,
bigmac

Havent seen too much flooding this year but last year after a big rain storm my buddy's neighborhood flooded three feet deep. We used my ford on 35's to cruise around and help anybody that needed it. It was kind of an eerie feeling opening the door and having water even with the floor board.

when i left my buddy apt there is a area that always fills up when we get a good rain do to poor drainage and an over flowing creek. there is only one way out of the apt complex so either you dont leave or you cross it. a few cars in front of me pulled over to let me go first  . it was a good thing that they did cause my bumper went under and it was well over 2 feet at the at the deepest part. it sucks for the people who live there case it happens every time it rains.

pic

whatthe heck it THAT?!!

my street is completely flooded, one of the neighbors house is pretty much under water, its in the basement and the carport and a few inches from hitting the door sill. The police closed the street now, but its about 2' deep. Im going to try and run the beater car thu it and see what happens.

Hey,

that's crazy. something similar happened to a buddy of mine and his family. storm drain got smaller right beside their house and so after one of the hurricanes it completely flooded their yard and street. they have a picture of them paddling around their backyard in one of those inflatable rubber rafts. luckily it didn't get into their house, but they did have to replace all the duct work in the crawl space. hope your neighbor doesn't get too much damage.

Over here in Cary (back of Regency Park) we have about 3 feet of water covering a good portion of our office parking lot. Kind of intimidates those who don't drive company vehicles. For some reaseon, all the company trucks seem to HAVE to go through it. (Mine was the first one through):D

Wake County tied it's 100 year Storm level today with 5.7 inches in one hour right before lunch. This was a certified 100 year storm for Wake County. Storm system run-off design for Wake County is the 100 year storm value of 5.7" per hour. Wake County Fema is on the hunt today updating their Wake County Fema maps. If you flooded, be prepared for Flood Insurance if Fema finds out. If you're not already required to pay flood insurance?
Chances of being pulled into the 100 year flood zone will be more likely in town than out in the country. Of course it will take a year if not more for the new areas to be implemented.

The good news is that the sun just popped out over here in Chapel Hill. Drier times are on the way for Raleigh.

8" of water in the crawl space. Lucky I have an understanding boss who is cool with me sitting here 'minding' the sump pump!

Wow...I thought it was bad here on the main road by my house.....

I'm assuming the one he marked 'Crabtree' with the phototext 'Crdmr/Glnwd' is Crabtree Mall at the corner of Creedmor and Glenwood :D
:D
One shot looked like Hwy 42 at 5 points in Fuquay main reason I asked that.
Heard 40 is Closed in Johnston County. Ten Ten is closed at Fanny Brown. Banks Road is closed and 5 points in Fuquay is closed. And the final blow for my possible ride home, Middle Creek is flooded over Old Stage Road. I live on the other side of the creek. That closes every possible way for me to get home. I feel like Snoopy walking around with a cloud over my head.:)

I have been watching all these pics all day and when I get home what do I find.. my downstairs Office, Tv Room and Laundry room got flooded while I was at work..
So now I am hauling up the couches and Tv and office stuff up to the 2nd story so I can dry out the carpets..
WELL SHIT.
I do not need this riht now..
arrgghh

:flipoff: Alberto...

A fellow soldier and friends decided to go play in the mud yesterday, got stuck in a '06 tacoma TRD in a "dry" lakebed. We went to recover him today @ 18:30, and now there is a full pond where he "parked"

The truck is in the middle of a 12' deep pond!

So a no go for pulling him out, and i hope he has good insurance. I'd believe a 100 year flood. Reminds me of '99 down east near ECU and surrounding areas

Those of oyu w/ wet basements/indoors etc -
I'd suggest heading to Lowe's or Home Depot *right now* and buying a dehumidifier. You'll want it for the dry out. Makes a WORLD of difference in a damp room and getting the carpet dry.

And they'll ALL be sold out by tomorrow.

In matthews where i live, behind work(cjs paintball) there is a low spot in the parking lot that is always fun. There was about 1.5 feet deep the other day, it was real fun.

I was at work today in Cornelius and it was sunny when my buddy Chase (CAS22) calls me and says you know that its flooding here in raliegh and i was like nah man and he was like yea i've pulled 7 different cars out now. Then he asks me how to get water out of an engine cause there was a cop that sunk his car. I was just like dang, thats crazy you get to have all the fun drivin in deep water! If i were up there i'd be drivin throu everybody of water I could find :driver:
