Did anyone notice this?

aimg.photobucket.com_albums_v443_ProjekTJ_UNF_202006_img_0799copy_1.jpg

(actually saw it in a thread on this board, and NO im not saying that the person in the picture did it, Im sure they are much more responsible than this)

WTF?

I know the person in the picture; and no they did not spray paint the rocks.

But myself and the others in my group and anyone else that was there this weekend (Sunday specifically) most likely saw the red half cab Toyota with red spraypaint all over it...along with the kid with the spray can at the Outpost. Whoever it was "loves Tiff" and drawing X's with squares around them. They really did a lot for trashing up a great place. Leave the spray paint at home next time please.

I love Tiff is painted red on the rock next to the jeep. Who ever did it, needs to be reported.

Here
Fixed it for you.

And I will add - sterilized to prevent further corruption of the gene pool.

I hope tiff utterly destroys hims and drags his (heart) thru such torture that he's left wondering if it's worth ever entering into a relationship again

What am I saying....."tiff" is a woman, of COURSE she will! But this guy deserves it!

I'm just curious as to how the dang tree thats in the middle of kodak got its bark ripped off like 10 feet in the air, did someone like come up kodak at 45 mph and try and drive up it, lol.

The guy running the buldozer this year wasn't the sharpest driver in the gene pool...he dinged lots of trees with the blade. I'm not sure he is gonna get invited back next year...

if anyone knows who has this toyota, it has an exo, but the front half has been cut off and the tubes were actually flopping around as he went over bumps, its about 3 different colors, red, white and gray maybe? had 38(maybe 36) inch tsl's and obviously, covered in red spraypaint

i saw it at kodiak, and knew immediately that he was the one who had painted all over the rocks, him and his friends were driving like complete assholes, and had absolutely no business whatsoever on the trails

opening weekend, the rangers were all over, i loved it, i saw very few people riding double on quads, most everyone had helmets on, but this sunday was the complete opposite, just like old times, people riding double everywhere we went, kids with no helmets, and i never saw a ranger all day, i would have loved for a ranger to come by while we were out there and bust these dumb@ss kids, but i never saw one, and didnt really have anyway of contacting one

FOLKS...if you have pictures of this rig (you never know what you might have when you take wider group type shots etc...peek thru your stuff from this weekend) please give us a holler here (any one of the Mods) and we will help get it to the right people.

Again, we realize we do not have 100% idea yet on who this is, but if we have seen a guy with red spray paint can at Eldorado, he would be someone I am sure they would like to talk to.

Btw...your digital camera is your best friend... simply snap a few pictures, DO NOT get yourself in trouble by trying to tell some drunk guy OFF or whatever.

Take the pictures FIRST and maybe suggest that isn't a good idea, but let LEO do the work.

(And I can tell you, those fines are UGLY...I have heard destruction of property fine is huge)

Same thing for other violations, off trail, etc. Best thing we can do is simply get a picture of the rig, especially if you can get their sticker or license tag. If not...just write it all down to the best of your knowledge, etc.

Thanks..
Sam

Speaking from experience on Sunday, The rangers were all over the atvers with no helmets and riding double. I personally witnessed a ranger stop at least 20 different people for cutting "NEW" trails and disobeying the rules.

They just don't have enuff manpower or womanpower to be everywhere. Like Sam said, We have to be willing to help them to stop all the jackassing around. They can't protect OUR hobby forever. Take pics and write down plates when you see someone screwing it up for all of us, Please.

ohh ohhh, I hope they leveled everything and made it super simple so more people can say they made ure in 2wd, when everytime im there not one actually rips up kodak or daniel.

looked through all my pics, and i didnt get one of them, the thought didnt cross my mind to take a pic for that reason, all that was on my mind was hoping to see a ranger so i could just tell him directly, but ill remember that from now on, sorry i didtn get one this time

ya know, some would say that ugly swath of rock and mud through an otherwise pristine forest is vandalism

some paint on a rock (while yes, vandalism) that will be scrubbed off after three or four tires are spun on it, isnt something that yall should be up in arms about

k?

Obiously you are high or just plain dumb. Offroaders, and outdoorsman are under the microscope, whether it be sediment/erosion issues or just because we cause air polution. All antis need is some ammo for their "offroaders suck weaponary" it doesnt matter what it is. Maybe pictures like this should not be posted on the net, I am sure some tree hugging lurkers screen these sites for fuel. I would suggest pics like this get fwd to MODs only, and with info they can fwd to the pertinent NWS personnel for possible follow on.

I agree with you.... I mean, while the kid with a spray paint can is a dumbass, trying to get him lynched will probably come back to bite us all. Next, the greenies will have issue with our Jeep's body paint rubbing against rocks (I know a couple rocks wear Mangler red in Uwharrie) or oil dripping onto the ground, or rocks being displaced by tires causing erosion and further killing the ecosphere or what have you. I think there are bigger fish to fry.

Let's keep an eye out for stuff as it happens, not try to point fingers after the fact. At this point, it's just conjecture. I have a lot of spray paint on my rig, that doesn't make me a vandal.... just too damn cheap to have my Jeep painted by a pro.

^, ^^

I agree also, I think that some issues should be kept lower key especially at a "tourist attraction" such as uwharrie. Stuff is going to happen and nothing can be done to stop it. Sure its wrong, illegal, and bad for the environment in some cases depending on what is done, but its not worth going after the person unless the leo or someone with authority sees it happen or has a video. It is just best in my opinion in situations like these to let it pass or even get out there and scrub it off if it bothers you that much just to keep the issue out of the press and off the tables of someone that can write their name and shut one of the 4wd meccas of Eastern North America down.

Anyways, chances are its not going to be shut down for that. Many times I have driven the Blue Ridge Parkway, one of the most senic and beautiful roads in the country in my opinion and seen spraypainting of something like "Hannah loves Will" or "Amanda and Zach forever" with a big heart over it, but it either stays there and weathers off, someone washes it off, or no one cares, yet the parkway (which is the on road equivalent to a park such as URE for some I guess you could say in some roundabout way) stays open and people keep driving, which also pollutes the air around the parkway and changes the environment.

no one is saying that this one incident will single-handedly get uwharrie shut down, but as a group that is constantly under such scrutiny, we have to pay attention to these things, its like saying, well hell, who cares if i drive over that tree and kill it, its only one tree, but when people get apathetic, and quit caring, and everyone drives over just one tree, thats when the wrong people start to notice

little things like this can add up, all i hope is that the retards that did this are lurking in this thread seeing how many people they've pissed off, and might (hopefully) get some idea of how serious we take this stuff, its NOT to be taken lightly, and it surprises me to see so many people who say, "who cares?"

yall is too uptight, take a few prozacs and post in about an hour.

'under the microscope', dude, its uwharrie not the rubicon. That hole of a town Denton/Troy would dry up and wither away if it wasnt for offroaders & outdoor peoples in the sunny season, look at the economic POV offroading brings to uwharrie. Im not saying I agree with the vandalism, but it will come off after a few mall cruizin jeeps attempt to climb up there. Hell, its probably smeared off now, and the vandalism got more attention from this thread. ahh, im done.

Paint scrapes and oil leaks the same as vandalism?
Per Studnuts "its uwharrie not the rubicon." Uwharrie has alot of extremely important archeological sites, so the Troy/Denton "drying up" is not an issue vandalism is. Of course the fool who did this thinks all this fuss over their work is funny. Back to the issue, if you see anybody breaking the rules or doing something illegal, get some photos and turn them in, it's our land and trails so it is up to us to keep them open.

I too saw the paintings this weekend and my first reaction was, here's more fuel for the greenies. But I have to disagree with those that seem to think that we should stand by and do nothing when witnessing a crime. While I am not proposing that we should put a lot of energy into trying to track this culprit down, that's LEO's job, if one of us were on the trail and witnessed in person this sort of vandalism, I would hope that as a responsible citizen they would take some sort of action such as reporting it to a ranger, hopefully accompanied by pics. If a fellow wheeler witnessed someone messing with my trailer or tow rig I would hope they would do SOMETHING. If they saw someone robbing the Outpost or trying to break in I hope they would do SOMETHING. If my daughter was there with friends and a bunch of drunks were giving her a hard time I hope a fellow wheeler would do SOMETHING. The things we have in this world, if important to us, are worth the time and trouble it takes to protect them. This goes for everything from vandalism at UNF to freedom.
