ive been looking for a 22r now and getting aggervated with it, ive thought about converting my truck to a v8 for awhile now. i can get my hand on a good 350 for pretty cheap, and i have all the tools needed to do this. Is there anyone out there that could give me some advice before i start, like what i should buy or where at, thanks!!!

no real advice but i have seen a lot of these projects just die off and never get finished, so if you start it get it finished so we can all see it and take lots of pics! that would be a very fast little truck

I belive Downey carries engine swap mounts and headers for the 22r/350 swap. Going to an auto trans and a t-case that you can get a cable shifter for greatly simplifies the shifter install, put them where its comfortable and run a cable. Make sure you have enough radiator, I have in the past cut part of a core support out in order to get more cooling ability into mini's with smallblock swaps, just brace it across the front behind the grille. Past that just ask, I've done a few swaps, the last V8 'yota is on a partial tube chassis though so it was kinda oversimplified.

thanks, i plan on fabing up my motor mounts and using my 5 speed using downey or northwest adapters, i figured the only problem i might have is exhaust and cooling. Ill get some prices and if it can be done fincialy ill start and with loooots of pics.

everybody i know that has done this has had problems with the toyota driveline not standing up under the added horsepower.

You will bow the toyota tranny up..... Go with the TH350 you can get an adapter to use toyota cases behind it.

I have a set of Yota V-8 conversion mount's For Sale if you are interested

I ran a 305 and a 4.3 both with TH350 in my last Yota and ended up going back to 22r with 5speed in the long run. I'd recommend fresh 22R and 5.29's.

v8 toyota

I used a set of block hugger headers with no problems.Northwest offroad has alot of stuff for the swap the radiator was my issue. They have a bolt in for v6 or v8 that works well.
