Wakesurfing video

Picked up a wakesurf board this weekend and man is it fun! We have been wakeboarding the last two years and didn't really even consider surfing, but now it will be a part of every trip on the water.

Nothing fancy, just cruising behind the boat!


Anyone else surf the lakes?
 
I would love to try that but i think that with my outboard motor the prop might be a little close for my liking. i'm sure just what your doing there isn't easy. How do you get up to begin with?
 
We launch similar a wakeboard- but only about 4 feet from the back of the boat and only about 1800rpms (vs 2500 for wakeboarding). I would NOT try this with an outboard boat!

Our optimal speed was 9.5mph. Anything faster and the wake thinned out, anything slower and it was too frothy. Totally relaxing after being beat on by wakeboarding all day.
 
whats the hull of a wakeboarding boat look like?

Those things kick out all sorts of crazy wake when your sitting 6 inches above the water in a kayak. Pretty fun actually :lol:
 
I've done it before, its good fun and alot less work than than the real thing but not quite as much fun. If you ever see a black/silver/white decked out Malibu there its probably my friends. That boat can make an INSANE wake to surf on. They're a great bunch to watch weather they're surfing or wakeboarding:beer:
