Want to put together a ride/event at Beasley Knob in GA

This is one of the best trails I've ever been on around here and you don't hear much about it. I want to put something together for mostly stock trucks, no buggies side by sides etc.... Just a cruise and a challenge with some lightly modified trucks.

Thoughts?
 
We used to wheel Beasley Knob all the time back when Tellico was open. We would wheel Tellico on Friday and Beasley on Saturday. It worked out well. Hardly ran into any trail traffic doing it that way. Those hill climbs can be no joke when they are wet.
 
Think the biggest factor with planning anything there is that it's closed with heavy rain. Never been but the one time I was in the area and planning to go it was closed due to rain.
 
I've been several times over the years and have also been denied due to rain :(
As said, when it get's 2 spits of rain, it gets rude fast!

Was talking to a bud last night about including it during our annual "Jeepster JAM" festivities and he'd heard they'd dozed most of the trails.
Whether that means they're still like a WallyWorld parking lot or will rebound similar to URE (10K dumbasses can revert that dozing pretty fast!), we don't know.

I hear trail 93 there is wicked. It's on my list....
 
We’ve run it several times. 93B is almost impossible if rain in the previous day or two. A couple years ago they reworked it with a small rock garden leading in and fixed some of it. But the climb is still a challenge if wet. You can see it all in a day. Little traffic and some nice obstacles make for a fun outing.
 
Yeah which is why I'm surprised there aren't more runs there and it isn't THAT far from us in NC. Would like to hit it with some lightly modified trucks like we used to in high school hah.

That is no joke. I can personally attest to not going when it rains. I can thank @tknopp for dragging my dumb ass up hills, because I forgot my winch controller. That Ramsey got a work out nearly every hill pulling two jeeps up hills that were slicker than cat shit on a linoleum floor. :D:eek: But that is the "easy" part of wheeling when it is wet. Downhill will put you in life threatening situations. Think about a 100 yard CLAY SLIDE that "tees" into a trail at the bottom. When you get to the bottom you are praying you can make the turn!:driver::handed:
