I need to go ahead and swap/build my axles. I want to get an 8.8 for the rear but I'm undecided on what I want for the front. I'm going to get Rusty's 6.5 inch long arm kit, so maybe that will give you an idea of what I'm going to be dealing with as far as size goes. I want to lock the rear and leave the front open. any suggestions/help/info would be great! thanks!

60 or 44 front, lockright in the rear, 4.88's. give me a shout if and when you need any gears, lockers, or shafts, would be happy to build them as well.

I just completed a swap using an HP 44 and a Rubi 6" longarm on a TJ. The rear was a 60. Done with Rubi axle brackets and high steer set up from Parts Mike. I can send you picks if your interested in a quote on fabrication or parts.

how much am I looking at for the axles/gears/locker? I can put the axles in myself, I just don't really care to mess with the gears and/or locker.

I also need to throw in that I'll be keeping 33's, so what would be a good gear for those? I want something that will keep me some power but still be a good street gear too.

8.8 axle-$150 w/ drums or about $300 w/disc
8.8 lockright- http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-128196-ford-8-8-lockright.html - 10% discount
8.8 gears- http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-127016-precision-ford-8-8-ring-and-pinion.html - 10% discount
8.8 Install kit- http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-127229-ford-8-8-master-install-kit.html - 10% discount
If you are only running 33's i would leave the dana 30, and maybe upgrade to alloy chromo shafts if you were worried about them. And i would run 4.56's
Dana 30 gears- http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-126809-precision-dana-30-ring -10% discount
Dana 30 Master install- http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-126970-dana-30-master-install-kit.html -10% discount
Alloy shafts- http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-12...chromoly-shafts-front-d30-vac-alloy12145.html -10% discount
Set-ups if purchased through ECGS- $200 an axle

I have some parts you might be interested in. I bought this stuff with the intent of building a Comanche but sold the truck before I had a chance. It was pulled from another XJ that was going 1-ton...

Set of XJ rears D35/D30, 4.10's, lock rights
Rusty's long arm front suspension system w/6.5" coils still assembled to the D30
No shocks, no rear springs

I'd take $1000.
