looking to wire an Albright on my Warn 8274.... 4ga is so much easier to work with and tucks in nicely under the stock cover! 2ga is a pain, but will carry the current! What gauge wire should I use for the solenoid to motor?

Battery + to Albright and the ground will be 2ga.

Thanks!

6 awg DLO?
4 DLO is good for 140 amps at 90C

An 8274 can draw some serious amperage. Obviously, I'd do as heavy as you can with the wiring and probably make hot and ground the same size. They're both equally important.

Those wires are only 6" long. You're not going to see significant voltage drop/internal resistance.

@shawn

I’m guessing the longest motor -> solenoid wire is 8”. Otherwise, they’re 4-6”.

4ga work on the short of a circuit?

thanks! Trying to wire this thing soon and 2ga is $$!

FYI - just checked our bid form.
#2 DLO my cost is $2.70/ft.

Most of my local stores want $8-$9/ft for the 2ga! I have a Tractor Supply that will sell it for $6/ft, which is clearly better... Running wire is going to add up either way!

My recollection is that those wires are 4ga direct from warn, even on the new ones with more powerful motors.

Aside from shooting some red onto the “W” and dropping her onto the front bumper... she’s essentially finished.
