I have a Warn 9.5Ti winch that is in need of a new motor. The "correct" 64635 motor for the 9.5Ti is about $300. Is there another motor option that doesn't have the "Ti" thermometric indicator and might be cheaper? I'd like to stick with a Warn motor, as the one that is on it is a China-cheapie and that's probably why it is dead.

I'm no help....but....how many winches do you have? 😆

I went with the 9.5XP (68068) on my 8274. It's about the same price on amazon, more expensive from Warn. Warn doesn't list the Ti motor on their parts list anymore? If it's out the door (or on its way) I don't think I'd get one.

What do you mean they don’t list it on their parts list? When I download the diagram and parts list from their website, it’s on there. Is that what you’re referring to?

When I went to Warn to find the replacement, it won't pull it up. I could only find it from other suppliers, and some of them showed limited inventory.

Gotcha. I think I’m gonna end up just grabbing a Warn one for $240 from one of the places online and see what happens.

Ran a few of these back in the day

DB Electric sells winch motors inexpensively along with a host of other electrical parts. Plus their descriptions include winch # cross-references to ensure you’re getting the right one. I used one of their motors for my last 8274 and it worked perfectly.
See my post above before you buy. DB Electric is awesome. I have 2 more 8274s and they’ll also get motors from them.
Unfortunately they don’t have anything for this part number. That’s why I was hoping to find out if a non thermoelectric motor is the same mount and spline.

Give them a call. I’ve bought alternators and starters from them for “obsolete” factory parts at work. They have more in stock than on the website if you can give a solid description. Pretty good company to deal with so far on my part.

I have purchased several things from DB electrical over the years (starters, alternators, relays, winch motors, etc), and unfortunately the motor I bought for my 8274 is the only thing I haven't been happy with from them. It only lasted about a year. I went to use the winch one day and it wouldn't work. I opened the motor up and water had gotten into it and made it a rusty mess. It hadn't been submerged, but it does set out in the weather. All of my junk sits out in the weather and that's the first one I have had do that. Maybe I got a bum one, but I don't think I'll get anymore winch motors from them. The replacement motor was a gigglepin from custom splice, but I'm not sure they would have the motor you need.

matt, pull the motor and count the splines. as far as im aware I have used the same motor for m9.5 all the way to m15. I think I even have an extra good used motor sitting around here somewhere

IIRC that motor was some oddball 14 spline.

Unless I'm totally whacked... the "Ti" (thermal protection BS) isn't *IN* the motor, just a leg that runs thru the "t-stat" thingy.

I may have bypassed that option on mine 🤫 , with no noticeable issues, but only used to pull others out/over 🤣
