Water Pressure problems...

I live in a 2 bathroom apartment. My bathroom works just fine, water pressure is acceptable, etc.

My sisters bathroom on the other hand is dismal. I cant figure out why. The landlords sent out a guy today, who replaced the valve system in the toilet, and changed out her shower head with some high velocity POS that we promptly took off again because it was absolutely useless...

Any ideas as to why her bathroom isnt getting good pressure? She is taking 1 hour showers to get the soap and crap off and im sure the water bill is gonna hurt.

Is her bathroom upstairs?

Her bathroom can be further down the line and have a reduced pipe size and cause a loss in pressure. If its in a apartment, this is likely the case as they build those things to the absolute minimum costs

Our apartment is on the second floor, but we only have one level. No stairs. Her bathroom is on the same floor as mine.

Which is why I cant figure out why her's has low pressure, and mine is fine when they are on the same level.

Did the plumber give you or do you have any suspicion of the order/layout of the plumbing?
Sounds to me like there is a plug or some failure somewhere past where it S for the 2 sides.

also - do all the fixtures in the bathroom seems slow like that? e.g. faucet, toilet, and shower, in comparison to teh same in yours?

Better question - how do you expect to ever get lucky w/ a girl @ your pad if your sister is there??

Plumber didnt come out, it was some kid who works for the apartment, and he knew jack crap. He said her current shower head wasnt designed for her bathroom, and her bathroom was something like a low pressure application? :shaking:

All the fixtures seem low compared to mine, shower, sink and toilet. The toilet is really bad, often takes 3 times to flush down ANYTHING. She mentioned that the pressure just dropped in the last month or so.

As for your last question, it always seems to work out pretty well haha.

you mean low flow...

Many apartments use these to reduce the amount of water use (in theory). Many codes for high density housing require low flow fixtures. Sometimes if newer products are used to fix an old toilet, sower, sink, etc. then those are replaced with the cheapest products and may be low-flow versus what is in your bathroom.

There are a ton of reasons the pressure could be low. Check a neighbor's shower, etc. See if theirs is low like yours or normal.

an obvious train of thought...
any one in the apartment directly below?

If not ask apt boy to go in and check an d make sure it is dry...

Yeah, and their water pressure is fine. I might ask the guys next door if I see them any time soon.

Most shower heads are designed to use the least amount of water. I`ve always taken the shower head off and drilled the center hole out to a bigger size. Always gave me great water pressure then.
