So I guess what I want to know is there anything that anyone on here has taken that works? I know stackers are not the same as before and just want to see what is out there. I go to the gym and workout try to eat right but just want a little help to get where I want to be a little faster.

what did you do to drop the weight

I dropped 35 last year and have pretty well kept it off...I slipped over Christmas and pick 10 back up, and am getting back on track to where I want to be...will be 190 by July -- 215 now.

I've done the South Beach thing. Pills are a crutch, and are bad. You need to make a lifestyle change. South Beach is easy, mostly cut out sugars and carbs. You can pretty well eat until you are full. I'm dropping a couple of pounds a week now that I'm back to the first phase.

Pick up the South Beach book, you won't be sorry (and will be healthier).

Diet, cardio, light weightlifting is key. I was 215 this time last year. After a few months of watching my diet, not eating after 10pm at night, cutting out sodas for the most part and hitting the gym/excercising 3-4 days per week I am down to 185 and have been since November.

cutting carbs is stupid! how do you have any energy? the best thing to do is cut down eating but not too much and go on a diet but not a "south beach" or any of that other crap where you cut stuff out, its not good for your system.

you can eat any food you like you just have to do it in moderation. and the biggest thing is life style changes like take stairs instead of the elevator, park farther from the store, stand up while talking on the phone, etc.

also heard walking 10 mins before or fter a meal helps.

Actually, seem to be doing well. I'm back into hiking and backpacking. I do 30 minutes on the treadmill every day, and seem to need less sleep now. I think that's because I'm not crashing from a sugar rush every hour or so.

Overall, I got a heck of a lot more energy than when I was a couch 'tater.

Metabolism. Do things to boost it, without caffine and other stimulants. Cardio is great but anything thats gets your heart doing anything other than idling is good for you. I'm blessed with a high metabolic rate. Eating a well balanced meal also will help stabilize and maintain a good metabolism. Diets that kick out or omit certain food groups will ultimately fail. You may lose alot to start out or do well throughout but when your done you go back to the same eating habits. While on these diets your system reacts by burning off reserves as a responce however your metabolic rate doesn't change. Simple low impact activities like walking briskly or bicycling will do more in the long run. The main idea is just to be more active. Your body gets accustomed to a daily rutine. Multi vitamines will actually do alot for your metabolism. I like the multi packs from GNC.

well you should have more energy than when you just sat around but its really not good to cut carbs . Your liver breaks down carbohydrates into glucose. Your body uses this sugar for energy for your cells, tissues and organs. basically it gives your muscles energy to move

Salads, Salads, Cardio, weightlifting, and more Salads. You can check out my workout routine in the thread that came up a while back about lifting. I have lost 25 pounds in 2 months and would have been a lot more except I slipped up a little about a month ago.

Possibly describe your diet and daily activity and people can offer suggestions.

Without knowing much else I'll assume your drinking things other than water.. Stop drinking SODA. End of story. Replace anything other than juice with water. Stay hydrated.

Set small goals. Nothing like making an unreachable goal out of the gate and dealing with the failure of that... There might be a lot of ass ripping around here but I don't think anyone here is gonna rip on you if you share how your progressing.

Watch the beer... Beer adds up fast. Actually your should be thinking any time you shove something in your mouth, how many calories is this and am I really hungry ?

If you like to munch get some rice cakes or make natural popcorn. (I'm fortunate to not have picky taste buds, if dirt was nutritious I'd probably eat it)

At this point.. I'll say fuck the whole work out routine BS. You just need to get out and do something.. Start small... Walk up the street 10mina and walk back. Do that for a week then if your still doing it walk a little more.. When you have the basic habit started then start growing it out to a larger routine.

I'm screwed... I've got a bum leg and back(no hiking or long walks) then I end up working 10hr shifts followed by 3hrs of picking up and dropping of my kids. On top of that cancer and heart disease runs rampant in my family. So I guess I'll start a tread for happy fat people. Good luck with all the diets and programs.

Have you tried the Q.F.E diet? It works.

I'm guessing thats the "Quit F@$k-in eating" :lol:so much plan. I've heard it works but hard to stick with:flipoff2: I've heard alot of warnings about the salad diets.

Just cut back your portions 25% and dont eat a 1/2 gallon of ice cream every night. I went from 175 to 188 since I got married last November so i am currently on the QFE diet:lol:

I guess I could lay off the super size meals and just get a mighty kids meal. Its just they look at you funny when you pull up to the window with out any kids with you. He Hee he

- Stop drinking soda. Drink water instead. You won't miss it after a little while. I probably only have a soda once every few months and find that I don't really like them anymore.

- Stop eating fast food (burgers, pizza, etc). If you are out and need food, hit Subway. Cut back on desserts. I probably only eat a burger and fries and pizza twice a year.

- Cut back on alcohol if you are a heavy drinker. I'll usually have 2-4 drinks maybe 3 nights a week which I don't think is too much.

- Get regular exercise. I am a big believer in cross training. I run, walk, bicycle, use elliptical machine, free weights, weight machine, hike etc regularly. Start out slowly and easily if you have been inactive for a while.

Like others have said, it is a lifestyle change, not a diet.

I dont drink soft drinks I only drink water or juice. I have been eating grilled chicken tuna some lean steak and fruits and vegetables

Have been doing the elliptical for about 45min to hour a day 3 days a week going twice a day this week we will see if it makes a difference.

I just wanted to see if anyone had any luck taking anything to help boost the weight lose

the only time i drink a soda now-a-days is if it's mixed with liquor. my bad habit now is coffee. i've gone from 249 down to 227 since november 2009, with little to no exercise. cut portion size down and try to be somewhat active and it'll definitely help.
